Welcome to the official website of the

Recording Industry Poker Tournament
for Charity Event.

On July 19, 2009, come join me, your host, Dave
Reitzas, as 120 of the industry's top producers,
engineers, musicians and manufacturers come
together for an afternoon of fun, luck, and skill for the
first-ever L.A. Recording Industry No Limit Texas Hold
‘Em Charity Poker Tournament at the World Famous
Village Recording Studios.

Players of all skill levels are invited to register for the
tournament and will be competing for an amazing
assortment of recording-related prizes being donated
by some of the best companies in the industry. Don't
think that you have to be an expert to come play. It's
basically an afternoon where people from our industry
will be able to hang out, have a friendly competition
and compete for cool prizes. Plus, you'll have the nice
feeling that your buy-in will be going to a good cause.

Proceeds raised will benefit Sound Art L.A. (
http:
//www.soundartla.org). Sound Art provides a musical
outlet for children desperate for self-expression. They
engage children of all ages in music education giving
them access to the tools of popular music and the
guidance of professional musicians as instructors.
With Sound Art, students awaken creativity, discover
their voices and experience success.

The tournament buy-in is only $100 with an optional
$50 add-on at anytime up through the 3rd level of play.

Sit & Go single-table mini-tournaments will be started
for players who have been eliminated from the Main
Event and would like a second or third chance to take
another shot at winning something big. The Sit & Go’s
will be started as soon as enough players are
eliminated from the Main Event. The Sit & Go’s will
start at $25 per player (10-player tables) and higher
buy-in Sit & Go’s may be offered for larger second
chance prizes.

Players must pre-register for the Main Event in order
to reserve their seat. The add-ons and Sit & Go’s will
be sold for cash on the day of the game. However, if
you want to purchase your $50 add-on in advance,
you will receive an extra $500 in bonus chips. Those
waiting to purchase until the day of the tournament
will just get the standard add-on chip increase (like
you, except you'll have an additional $500 more chips
because you purchased your add-on in advance.
Good move!!!).

Check in begins at 12:15 p.m. Food and beverages
will be provided. An instruction table will be available
30 minutes prior to start time for players in need of a
little brush-up.

Tournament play begins at 2:00 p.m.  West L.A. poker
will be providing all the tournament essentials for the
event including professional dealers, felt covered
tables, heavy duty chips, the same brand of cards
used for the World Series of Poker, tournament clock
software projected onscreen displaying blind levels
and structure, and a Tournament Director to keep the
event running smoothly and on time.

We've been contacting gear manufacturers and
software developers for product donations. The
response has been extremely generous and we're
proud to announce some amazing prizes for the top
40 or so players, with the best prizes reserved for the
final table players. See the Prize page for a more
detailed description of the products.

Karen Margroff Dunn (
KMD Productions), a seasoned
event coordinator from the TEC Awards and Mix LA
Open Golf Tournament is working her butt off to get
the donations in order to have prizes that are thrilling
for everyone! If you know anyone who hasn't been
contacted by us who would like to donate, please
have them contact her at
Karen@kmdpro.com.

The reason I decided to do this event was to find a
good excuse for bringing us together. Seeing old
friends and meeting new ones, introducing the users
of the tools we use daily with the creators of those
tools, and supporting a charity that focuses on kids
and music. Thanks to everyone for donating and
signing up for the tournament. We look forward to
making this an amazing day for everyone!

Best,

Your Host

Dave Reitzas began his recording career more than two decades ago as an assistant engineer
for Guns N’ Roses
Appetite for Destruction. Producer Mike Clink, impressed with Dave's talent
and ambition, referred him to producer/songwriter David Foster. He quickly graduated to mixing
engineer on projects with many of the preeminent artists of the century, and the rest is history!

Madonna's
Ray of Light, Whitney Houston's The Bodyguard, Natalie Cole's Unforgettable and
Barbra Streisand's
Timeless, The Concert are just a few of the standouts from Reitzas'
immense discography. All told, Reitzas has contributed his talents to records that have been
nominated in 52 separate Grammy categories and have sold well over 150 million copies.
Reitzas personal statue collection includes a Grammy for Best Engineered Album
Unforgettable
With Love
for Natalie and Nat King Cole; Best Pop Album as engineer/mixer on Madonna's Ray
of Light
; and Best Mexican/American Album as mixer for Luis Miguel's Mexico En La Piel (also
winning him a Latin Grammy for Best Ranchero Album).

In 2001, Reitzas received an Emmy award for "Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety or
Television Special for recording and mixing Barbra Streisand's "Timeless, The Millennium
Concert.” Working with Streisand since 1992, Reitzas most recently took on the massive
demands of her Live Concert Tour of 2006, earning him a Grammy nomination for Best
Traditional Pop Album. Last year, Reitzas recorded and mixed the hugely successful Hit Man:
David Foster & Friends, a concert honoring David Foster at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
The show featured Josh Groban, Michael Buble, Andrea Bocelli, Barbra Streisand, Peter
Cetera, Boz Skaggs, Brian Mcknight, Kenny G, Charice, Babyface, Celine, Katharine McPhee
and Rene' Olstead. Keep your fingers crossed for this year's Emmy nominations.

A few more of the many artists Reitzas has recorded/mixed include Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole,
Celine Dion, Cher, Tina Turner, Gloria Estefan, Shakira, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Seal,
Tony Bennett, Michael Bolton and Lionel Richie.
